Rewind six months and a physical final degree show seemed an impossible dream. I guess you should never give up on the impossible. As students we have all had to embrace digital technologies and see the positives that a digital world offers. But there is still something really fantastic about having the chance to come together as a course and collaborate on a physical final degree show.
The MA Art and Science final degree show starts at Asylum Chapel in London and then we have a second show at Safehouse 1 & 2. Some artists from the course are showing in both and some are focusing on just one of the places. What is really exciting is that the spaces are so different. From a Grade II listed chapel to a pair of Victorian terraces (complete with bullet holes) the difference couldn’t be starker. I can’t wait to see the final gallery hang and how it all comes together.
I will be exhibiting ‘Mermaids in the Basement’ and ‘Full Fathom Five’ (two paintings) at the Asylum Chapel and then I’ll be exhibiting ‘Porthole 5’ (C-print) at Safehouse. The dates and times of the two exhibitions are as follows:
